APRO Industrial ATA PC Card

Description:
With the new HighSpeed Industrial ATA PC Card series, APRO offers the perfect solution for industrial applications. The demand of the customers for long term supply with consistent key components can be granted by APRO for this whole product line.

The integrated 3S-ATA-Controller offers nearly 100% reliabilty by using a 4-bit Error Correction Code (ECC) with HighSpeed data transmission at the same time. These features will be furthermore supported by the used SAMSUNG SLC (Single-Level-Cell) Flash-ICs, which offers higher transmission-rates and more write/erase cycles than comparable ATA PC Cards equipped with MLC (Multi-Level-Cell) Flash-ICs.

For harsh application which demands an extended temperature range from -40°C to +85°C the APRO ATA PC Cards are also available with Controller and Flash-ICs specified for this range.

Beneath this the cards offers also all features to be used in industrial applications like:

  • The integrated ATA-Controller enables the use of the cards in Memory- as well as in the True-IDE-Mode, which ensures the operation in connection with a PCMCIA-Controller and also the use directly at the IDE-Interface of a x86 based PC-system.

  • For applications which are based on Windows® XP or Windows® Embedded XP the cards can be also delivered as IDE-FIXED which ensures that the cards are recognized as standard IDE hard drives.

  • Compatibility and interoperability with most hard- and software-platforms like DOS, Windows® 3.x, 95/98, NT, 2000, XP, CE.NET, OS/2 Warp, VxWorks, Linux, Embedded-OS and others.

  • With the great advantages of non-volatile and solid state, the ATA PC Cards are more robust regarding shock, vibration and mechanical loads than conventional hard disk drives and consume around 10% of the power required by small disk drives.

  • > 1.000.000 hours MTBF, up to 2.000.000 write/erase-cycles based on Wear-Leveling and advanced Bad-Sector-Management and up to 10 years data-backup without any battery-buffer ensures the function of the CompactFlash Cards over a long period of time.
